stepping into the avenue, the dameekavenue, the sun shining directly into my eyes, i relised its been a while, a year precisely since i have walked this path, a year of various happenings, good and bad, highs and low, pleasure and pain, rights and wrongs, blessings and curses, positives and negatives, and through it all, lessons of life that have been learnt during this while, and the maturity acquired, and i just simply say thanks to GOD
I was discussing with a friend the other day and during the discussion, i was told that there had been a revelation, a revelation about Africa that the continent was shaped like a gun, the trigger point being Nigeria the end of the barrel being South Africa. This revelation, interpreted, means if any change was goin to take place in Africa, and the world at large, it was going to be initiated by Nigeria. If we cast our minds back to the tail end of military regime in Nigeria, and how it was brought to an abrupt end in in 1999, one might start to wonder if that was the begining of the end of most dictatorship regimes in Africa and the world at large. From the fall of the Abacha regime to that of Nasingbe Iyadema, to that of Charles Taylor, to the untimely death of the Congolese super dictator, Mubutu Seseseko, to fall of the kingdom of Robert Mugabe, to ouster of Saddam hussien, to the revolutionary protests in Tunisia, to the sacking of HossniMubarak, and the spill over in to Bahrain, and now the over four decades dictatorship regime of Mohman Gaddaffi, and cant help but wonder that something good is in the offering for humanity. Just my random thought.
